Virtual or in person

Even though in-person lessons are strongly preferred, most students are set up for virtual lessons whenever is needed, either due to health precautions or transportation problems.

How Lessons Work

Once you decide to take lessons, we will reserve a time slot and meet once a week on the same day, at the same time. Tuition is charged by the semester, based on however many lessons we will be having.

I will give you a sufficient amount of pieces for the week to practice. If you have questions before the next lesson, you can always text me or send in a video of your playing. I will be happy to provide feedback.

If you have to miss lesson, let me know at least the week before and we will try to reschedule for that same week at a different time. If it is a last minute cancellation (less than 48 hrs), we can either schedule a short online meeting, or you can send in a video for me so we can be sure everything is on track and that you have enough materials to work on for the coming week.

There will be one or two group lessons every semester, providing students with a forum to meet each other, perform solo pieces for one another, and play ensemble pieces together. Students always find these sessions inspiring and motivating, as they are a great opportunity to learn from each other.

Recitals are held twice a year. The next recital will be in either February or March 2022. All school-aged students are encouraged to participate.

What Students Are Saying

“I am one of Kaffee’s adult learners. I recommend her as a teacher for any age. Kaffee is a great teacher. She is patient, kind and a very good musician. She is a problem solver too. When I started I didn’t have a harp; she rented me a lever harp until she helped me find my first pedal harp. Trained at USC, she plays multiple instruments. This means we can play duets as well as solos, which is fun and adds some variety to our lessons. I have been taking virtual lessons since March; these work really well. While I am always amazed at the mistakes she can catch over FaceTime, I can’t wait to get back into the studio! If, like me you always wanted to play harp, definitely give Kaffee a call!.”

“ I LOVE taking lessons from Kaffee! One thing I especially enjoy is her knowledge of multiple instruments. Whether I have a harp or piano (or sometimes guitar) question, Kaffee is the first person I ask and she provides great tips that have helped me continue developing my skills as a musician.
I'm thankful to have found a kind and down to earth music teacher.”

— Laura M.

“ Kaffee is my third harp teacher. I have enjoyed all three instructors but she stands out. She motivates me to improve at every lesson whether I had time to practice in between lessons or not. She has great patience and is encouraging is a positive way. I love that she tailors lessons and music pieces to the interest of each individual. She also encourages group lessons and duets which inspires me to work harder even with my time constraints. In fact, she has recorded music on YouTube for me so that I can practice duet pieces from home. And, she’s just a down-to-earth, caring person! I highly recommend Kaffee.”
